Darrell

Every morning after I have checked over my bus I do a "radio check" (my bus/route number is 625) as follows:

Me:  "625 radio check"

Base:  "loud and clear Dennis"

And that is the end of communication unless base has something to advise me about for the day such as a particular student will not ride that day and therefore I don't need to stop for that student.

Yesterday I did the usual radio check but received this response:

"loud and clear Darrell".

So me being the jerk that I am replied

"I have been called many things during my life, but I have never been called Darrell".

These radio transmissions are heard on all of our 60 or 70 buses.  I did receive a few comments on my transmission.

In support of the person(s) at the base I admit that a mixup is inevitable but I was just feeling a little "frisky" that day.
