Yesterday when I stopped my bus to pick up "Johnny" (not his real name) and his 2 brothers the neighbor lady that was caring for them told me that Johnny had messed his pants and that she didn't have any supplies to change him. Johnny has Downs Syndrome and is about 10 yrs old and is not toilet trained (duh).
It is about a 15 minute ride to his school (we have to make 2 stops after Johnny's) and by the time we got to school the bus smelled pretty bad. While we waited for his school aide to come get him one of the other aides that cares for Max got on the bus to assist Max and about died.
Finally Johnny's aide arrived and I explained the situation to her (she was the one that was going to have to clean him up). At the end of the day Kay (Johnny"s aide) told me he had poop from his shoulders to his knees and it took her 30 minutes to clean him up.
This morning when we stopped to pick up Johnny and his brothers he got on the bus and announced to everyone "NO POOP, NO POOP and he laughed and sat down.
Kay told me he calls it his "water poop" and you can guess why.
I felt bad for Johnny but in a sad way it was kind of funny to see him walking into school like he had just ridden a horse.
This is only the 2nd time this has happened to him and I have been driving him for 2 yrs.

Poor aide. And yet, thanks to her, the parents get a bit of a break in caring for their child.
I've changed diapers at school for an eight-year-old kid with cerebral palsy.
